Humanoid Foundation Model

A humanoid foundation model is a large pretrained policy intended to provide general-purpose control for humanoid robots, mapping vision, language, and proprioception to whole-body or upper-body actions across many tasks. Examples include NVIDIA's GR00T N1, trained on a pyramid of internet video, synthetic, and teleoperated robot data, and Figure's Helix, which pairs a vision-language backbone with a high-rate visuomotor controller.

Why it matters for physical AI

A single model that transfers skills across tasks and humanoid platforms would amortize data collection across an entire fleet, which is the core economic bet behind current humanoid programs.
