Industrial Robot

An industrial robot is, per ISO 8373, an automatically controlled, reprogrammable, multipurpose manipulator programmable in three or more axes, used in applications such as welding, painting, palletizing, machine tending, and assembly. Millions of units operate worldwide, dominated by six-axis arms from vendors like FANUC, ABB, KUKA, and Yaskawa, traditionally running fixed programs inside safety-fenced cells.

Why it matters for physical AI

Industrial arms represent an enormous installed base of reliable hardware whose economics change dramatically if foundation-model policies can replace fixed programming with rapid, general task adaptation.

Build physical AI

Put these concepts to work on real hardware

Axol is a dual-arm robot built for physical AI — teleoperate it, collect demonstrations, and deploy learned policies out of the box.
