Instruction Following

Instruction following is the capability of a robot to execute tasks specified in natural language, requiring the system to ground words in perception and action. Language-conditioned policies such as RT-1 and RT-2 map instructions directly to motor commands, planners like SayCan decompose instructions into affordance-weighted skills, and benchmarks such as CALVIN evaluate long-horizon language-conditioned manipulation.
