Open3D
Open3D is an open-source library for 3D data processing, initiated at Intel Labs, providing data structures and algorithms for point clouds, meshes, and RGB-D images in C++ and Python. Its capabilities include point cloud registration such as ICP, normal estimation, surface reconstruction, odometry, and visualization, plus a machine learning extension for 3D deep learning workloads.
Why it matters for physical AI
Point cloud and depth processing sits under most manipulation perception stacks, and Open3D is one of the standard tools for prototyping and deploying that geometry pipeline.
