ZED Camera
The ZED camera is a family of stereo depth cameras from Stereolabs that compute depth from passive binocular stereo using GPU-accelerated, increasingly neural, matching rather than projected infrared patterns. This gives it longer range and reliable outdoor operation in sunlight, where active IR sensors such as the RealSense degrade, and the SDK adds visual-inertial odometry, spatial mapping, and human skeleton tracking.
Why it matters for physical AI
Outdoor-capable depth at range is a prerequisite for field robots and sidewalk-scale autonomy, and integrated camera-plus-SDK packages shorten the path from raw sensing to the point clouds and odometry that navigation stacks consume.
