Hardware
Figure 01
Figure 01 is the first general-purpose humanoid robot developed by Figure AI, unveiled in 2023 as an electric, roughly human-scale bipedal platform aimed at commercial labor tasks. It gained attention through a BMW manufacturing partnership and a 2024 demonstration of speech-driven manipulation using OpenAI-powered reasoning. Figure subsequently iterated to Figure 02 and 03 and introduced Helix, an in-house vision-language-action model controlling the robot's upper body.
Why it matters for physical AI
Commercial humanoid programs like Figure's are proving grounds for end-to-end neural control at industrial reliability, and their hardware iterations show how quickly the platform layer beneath robot foundation models is evolving.
Build physical AI
Put these concepts to work on real hardware
Axol is a dual-arm robot built for physical AI — teleoperate it, collect demonstrations, and deploy learned policies out of the box.
