A mobile robot is a robot capable of moving through its environment rather than being fixed to a single location, encompassing wheeled and tracked ground vehicles, legged robots, aerial drones, and marine platforms. Autonomy stacks for mobile robots center on the perception-localization-planning-control loop, distinguishing them from fixed manipulators whose workspace is static and precisely calibrated.
