Multi-Finger Grasp

A multi-finger grasp is a grasp employing three or more articulated fingers to constrain an object, enabling force-closure configurations, precision fingertip grips, and in-hand reorientation unavailable to parallel-jaw grippers. Grasp analysis characterizes such grasps through contact models and force closure, while synthesis must search a high-dimensional space of hand configurations, now increasingly handled by learned generative models trained on datasets such as DexGraspNet.
