Telemetry

Telemetry is the automated collection and transmission of a robot's operational data, including joint states, sensor readings, battery status, controller health, error events, and task outcomes, to remote monitoring and logging infrastructure. Robot telemetry systems typically stream time-series data over protocols such as MQTT, DDS, or gRPC into fleet dashboards and long-term stores, with bandwidth-aware handling of high-rate signals like video and point clouds.

Why it matters for physical AI

Fleet telemetry is the raw material of the deployment data flywheel: logged episodes surface failure modes, feed incident triage, and become training data that improves robot foundation models over successive versions.
