Clean Room Robot
A clean room robot is a manipulator or mobile platform engineered to operate in contamination-controlled environments, classified under ISO 14644-1 cleanliness classes, common in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and medical device manufacturing. Designs minimize particle generation using sealed joints, low-outgassing materials, special lubricants, and smooth stainless or coated surfaces, and are validated for particle emission. Wafer-handling robots in semiconductor fabs are the highest-volume example.
